JUDGMENT : Daya Chaudhary, J. 1. The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents not to harass the petitioner by initiating illegal and false vigilance inquiry without assigning any reason. 2. In response to notice of motion, reply has been filed by the respondents-State, which is on record. Subsequently, vide order dated 12.08.2016, learned State counsel was directed to get the present status of the inquiry. Pursuant thereto, status report has been filed in the Court today wherein it has been mentioned that Inspector Major Singh conducted inquiry and sent the inquiry report to the SSP, Vigilance Bureau Range, Jalandhar for further action. Said inquiry report has further been sent to Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab, Chandigarh for further action after approval of the inquiry report. 3. In view of the stand taken in the status report, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Chief Director, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab, Chandigarh to take final decision in the case in accordance with law after taking into consideration the report within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
