JUDGMENT : Daya Chaudhary, J. 1. This petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent authorities to finalise the seniority list of the petitioners and to grant all consequential benefits. 2. In response to notice of motion, reply has been filed by the State, which is on record. 3. Learned State counsel submits that after examining the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee, the claim of the petitioners has been granted by the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar. The seniority of the petitioners has been refixed and details have been mentioned in the order. 4. The case of the petitioners is that they are entitled for all consequential benefits on the basis of re-fixation of the seniority. Since the seniority of the petitioners as well as other candidates has been re-fixed, the respondents are directed to consider the case of the petitioners on the basis of seniority as re-fixed. In case, the petitioners are entitled for any promotion or consequential benefit, the same be granted to them. 5. Disposed of accordingly. 6. However, in case, the petitioners are still aggrieved by any action of the respondents, they are at liberty to avail the appropriate remedy.
