ORDER : M. Jaichandren, J. This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed praying that this Court may be pleased to direct the respondents to produce the detenu, namely, P. Saravanan, aged about 34 years, before this Court, and to set him at liberty. 2. The petitioner is the father of the detenu. It has been stated that the petitioner's son, namely, P. Saravanan had disappeared, on 21.2.2014. The detenu was a B.E. graduate and he was running a business. On 3.5.2014, the petitioner has lodged a complaint before S-11 Tambaram Police Station stating that his son, namely, P. Saravanan was missing. The said complaint had been registered, in Crime No. 668 of 2014, dated 3.5.2014. Since no further action had been taken by the respondent Police, the petitioner has preferred the present Habeas Corpus Petition before this Court. 3. Today when the matter was taken up for hearing, the second respondent has filed a status report, dated 8.2.2016, wherein, the steps taken by the second respondent to trace the detenu had been stated. A special team had also been formed to trace the detenu and the said team had visited a number of places to trace the detenu. 4. In view of the submissions made in the status report filed by the second respondent, dated 8.2.2016, we are of the view that the second respondent has been taking the necessary steps, to trace the detenu. In such circumstances, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. However, it is made clear that the second respondent shall continue the investigation to trace the detenu and to take appropriate steps in accordance with law.
