JUDGMENT K.M. JOSEPH, C.J. (Oral) Petitioner approached this Court seeking following reliefs:- “i) Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondent no. 1 & 2 to provide safety and security to the petitioner from respondent no. 3 to 12 who are openly threatening the petitioner and have attacked the petitioner for doing away with his life and are now looking for an opportunity to murder the petitioner.” 2. In the earlier round, the Division Bench, by annexure-3 of the order, took the note of statement of respondent Nos. 3 to 12, who are party respondents in this petition also, that they have no intention to harm the petitioner and closed the writ petition. The earlier Bench also directed that petitioner may approach SSP concerned as and when need arises. 3. This is second writ petition wherein allegations of threat again raised against the party respondents. 4. We heard Shri Navneet Kaushik, learned counsel for the petitioner, Shri D.K. Sharma, learned Addl. Advocate General for the State of Uttarakhand and also Shri Mohd. Safdar, learned counsel for respondent Nos. 3 to 10. 5. Learned counsel for the party respondents again reiterated that they will not cause any threat to the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that Gunners have been provided at the cost of the petitioner. 6. We dispose of the writ petition as follows: The arrangement of Gunners being provided, will continue for a period of 10 days and, thereafter, if the petitioner represents before the first respondent that there is still threat from the party respondents to the petitioner, he will look into the matter and only if is satisfied that there is threat, he will provide adequate protection as and when required. 7. We close the writ petition.
