ORDER : This petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and her husband Prabhakaran. 2. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the State. 3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submits that on the complaint lodged by Angaiarkanni / mother of the petitioner, the respondent police have registered a case in Crime No.52 of 2016 for Woman Missing on 02.03.2016. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was in love with one Prabhakaran, who belongs to a different community and since her parents resisted the marriage, she has eloped with the said Prabhakaran and has got married to him on 02.03.2016. 5. Under such circumstances, this Court directs the petitioner to appear before the 2nd respondent and give a written complaint for protection and on receipt of such complaint, the same shall be enquired into and sufficient protection be afforded to the petitioner and her husband in terms of the law laid down by the Supreme Court in the case of Lata Singh vs. State of U.P. & Another, reported in (2006) 5 SCC 475 . With the above direction, this Criminal Original petition is disposed of.
