Judgment 1. With the consent of counsel for the parties, writ petition is admitted and taken up for final disposal. 2. Petitioner is a spinster and her father was serving-in Jammu and Kashmir Police Department District Rajouri as constable in the Office of Superintendent of Police Rajouri. He retired and expired on 16.02.2015. Petitioner being a legal heir and unmarried daughter pleads that she is dependent on the deceased father. She made an application for grand family pension in absence of her mother who died earlier during lifetime of her father. 3. Petitioner claims that she made a number of representations to the respondents and the last representation is dated 05.03.2016 but none of the representations were accorded consideration so the petitioner has filed the instant writ petition for the following re1ief(s):— “mandamus whereby commanding upon the official respondents to grant family pension benefits which include revise pension, salary and other benefits like gratuity arising out of service rendering by father of petitioner in the Police department.” 4. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, the respondents are directed to accord consideration to the claim on its own merit based on the record. If the petitioner is found to be eligible then the respondents are duty bound to accord consideration without any undue delay as the petitioner is unmarried lady claiming to be dependent on the family pension of the deceased. Such consideration be undertaken and concluded within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order if not already taken. 5. The writ petition is disposed of as above.
