JUDGMENT : Shekher Dhawan, J. 1. The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to issue roll number to the petitioner for appearing in the examination of 8th Semester of Five Years LL.B. Course, in Panjab University, who was not eligible for appearing in the exam on account of short fall in the lectures. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that as per requirement of the rules, the petitioner was required to attend 75% lectures during the semester but he could not attend the required lectures because of unavoidable circumstances including illness and therefore, he be allowed to appear in the 3rd exam of 8th Semester, scheduled for 3.6.2017. 3. As per record, the petitioner had attended only 38% lectures in Environmental Law, 19% in Drafting, 22% in Service Law, and 21% in CPC. He had attended more than 79% lectures in Sociology. Till now no representation has been made by the petitioner before the University. One of the grounds taken in the petition i.e. the petitioner fallen ill during the period from 24.4.2017 to 14.5.2017 and that too without support of any medical certificate, from any Government Hospital. The petitioner has not made any representation for condonation of short fall in the lectures. Two exams are already over. There is absolutely no ground for acceptance of the present petition, therefore, the petition stands dismissed.
