RAJAN GUPTA

JUDGMENT : Rajan Gupta J. Petitioner has filed the instant writ petition praying for a direction to the respondents to remove the photographs of the political figures from the ambulance as the same had been commissioned under a national scheme known as National Ambulance Scheme. It is further stated in the petition that the State of Punjab is required to use the standard model and design on the ambulance services provided by Government of India. However, it tried to draw political mileage from a scheme funded by the Government of India. Today the court has been apprised that the photographs have been removed from the ambulances. This was done when election to the State Assembly were announced. 2. In view of above, present petition has been rendered infructuous and is dismissed as such. However, respondent no. 2 would examine whether uniform design and colour coding can be adopted as required by Central Government for National Ambulance Service (NAS) at the earliest. If a decision to this effect is taken there will be no local modification in the standard design approved by Government of India vide its circular dated 16.3.2013, Annexure P-4 to the petition.
