ORDER : Mr. K. Venkatramani, learned Additional Advocate General (VII) assisted by Mr. A.N. Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. 2. The petitioner has applied for the post of Police Constable pursuant to the advertisement dated 23.01.2017 issued by the respondents. His application was rejected on the grounds that he has not enclosed his S.S.L.C. certificate along with the application. Since he has not shown a qualifying certificate, his case was rejected as not qualified. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has mentioned in his application that he has passed S.S.L.C., and has also submitted the qualifying certificates along with the application. 4. Be that as it may, now, the learned counsel for the petitioner produced the S.S.L.C., certificate of the petitioner before this Court today. 5. The learned Additional Advocate General would submit that though the petitioner is a qualified candidate, his case was not considered for want of S.S.L.C., certificate. Since there is a communication gap and this is a last opportunity for the petitioner to appear in the examination, this Court considers that it is a fit case for permitting the petitioner to appear in the examination scheduled to be held on 21.05.2017. 6. The learned Additional Advocate General would submit that the petitioner may appear before the respondents by tomorrow (19.05.2017) with the credentials of his qualification. The learned Additional Advocate General would further submit that he will direct the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner and permit him to write the examination scheduled to be held on 21.05.2017. 7. Recording the submissions made by the learned Additional Advocate General, the respondents are directed to permit the petitioner to appear for the written examination scheduled to be held on 21.05.2017, subject to production of the required certificates, if he is otherwise eligible and without insisting for the certified copy of this order. 8. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
