JUDGMENT : AMOL RATTAN SINGH, J. 1. Though no reply has been filed to the petition and not even the record is present here, however, learned State counsel does not deny that the petitioners' appointment as a driver was actually extended from 25.05.2017 to 24.05.2018, vide a communication Annexure P-2. 2. However, he has not been allowed to join duty which also is not denied by learned State counsel, on instructions. 3. Mr. Dinarpur, today in fact has produced a photo copy of a communication dated 24.07.2017, from the Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Haryana, Medical Education and Research Department, addressed to the Director, Medical Education and Research, Haryana, by name, i.e. to Shri Ravi Parkash Gupta, IAS, asking to him to explain his position as to why the matter be not referred to Chief Secretary for initiating disciplinary action against the Director for defying a lawful government order, i.e. the order by which the petitioners' services as a driver had been ordered to be continued. 4. In the aforesaid situation, the Director, Medical Education and Research, Haryana, Panchkula, is directed to immediately forthwith ensure that the petitioner is allowed to join duty within one week, with salary paid to him from the date of extension of his appointment, with interest @ 6% per annum, failing which natural consequences shall follow, for noncompliance of the order of the Court. Petition is disposed of with the above directions.
