ORDER On the request of learned senior counsel appearing for the Union of India, list the matter on 7th February, 2017. 2. In the meanwhile, we would like him to take definite instructions on whether the Draft Wetlands (Conservation and Management) Rules, 2016 which were said to have been circulated some time in March, 2016 have been finalized or not and, if not, reasons for the delay. 3. We would also like to know specifically whether the Central Wetlands Regulatory Authority, whose term expires on or about 14th February, 2017, has been reconstituted and, if not, reasons for the delay. 4. We would also like the Union of India to tell us what specific steps have been taken to preserve the 26 wetlands covered by the Ramsar Convention, 1971. 5. We make it clear that the petition is required to be taken seriously by the Union of India.
