JUDGMENT & ORDER : SANDEEP MEHTA, J. 1. By way writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, the petitioners have approached this Court, for issuing a direction to the respondents to provide them protection as they apprehend danger to their life and liberty at the hands of those, who are opposed to their marriage. 2. After having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Public Prosecutor, this Court is of the opinion that no citizen can be allowed to take law in his own hands and to threaten the spouses on the ground that the marriage is not acceptable to them. 3. Consequently, the writ petition is allowed. It is hereby directed that the SHO of the concerned Police Station shall ensure that in case any threat perception is noticed as regards the petitioners' life and liberty, appropriate protection shall be provided to them from those, who are displeased with the marriage. 4. The S.H.O concerned shall also ascertain the age of the petitioner no. 1 and in case, she is found to be minor, appropriate legal action shall be taken against the petitioner no. 2. 5. The stay petition is disposed of.
