JUDGMENT Mr. Mahesh Grover , J. (Oral):- This is an application under Section 226 of the Constitution of India praying for parole to applicant-Sukhwinder Singh son of Amrik Singh who has been convicted and sentenced to undergo life imprisonment in a case registered vide FIR No.91 dated 8.5.2013 under Sections 302, 148, 149 IPC and 25/27, 54, 59 of Arms Act, at PS Patti, District Tarn Taran on the ground that the niece of the petitioner is getting married tomorrow i.e. 12.12.2017. 2. This fact has been verified and found to be correct by the learned State counsel on instructions from SI Sukhchain Singh, PS Sadar, Patti, Tarn Taran. 3. Having regard to the aforesaid, we allow the present petition and direct that the petitioner be released on parole for a period of one week i.e. from 12.12.2017 to 18.12.2017 to enable him to attend the marriage of his niece subject to his completing necessary formalities, if any. The petitioner will surrender before the jail authorities on 19.12.2017. 4. A copy of this order be given to the learned counsel for the petitioner under the signatures of Special Secretary of this Bench.
