JUDGMENT : 1. The status report submitted by Mr. B. A. Dar, Sr. AAG, is taken on record. 2. From the said status report and in particular Annexure R1 thereto, it appears that with regard to most of the schools which were burned down, either fully or partially, DPRs have been received from the R&B Department. However, release of funds is yet to be sanctioned. We are informed by Mr. Dar that these projects have been taken up on priority basis and all efforts will be made to have the funds sanctioned and reconstruction of the schools which were damaged and gutted due to fire would be taken up at the earliest. 3. We require Mr. Dar to submit an updated status report with regard to the dates on which DPRs were received and the dates on which they were forwarded to the Administrative Department and the dates on which the sanctions have been received/likely to the received. The schools in which work has been started will also be indicated along with photographs to indicate the status of the buildings. The status report shall also indicate as to whether the children, who were studying in the schools, the buildings of which were gutted, have been appropriately accommodated by way of temporary alternative measures in other schools and whether they are receiving proper education or not. Details of this be provided before the next date of hearing. The status report shall also indicate the progress made in the FIRs and the investigation that has been taken pursuant thereto. The same be submitted by the Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) before the next date of hearing. 4. Re-notify on 18.07.2017. 5. Copies of this order be given to Mr. Dar as also to the learned Amicus Curiae.
