JUDGMENT : 1. The case set up by the petitioner is that during the course of construction activities undertaken by the respondents for laying the railway line, carried out at Khasra No. 3, situated at Village Movelkote, Sangaldan, Tehsil Gool, District Udhampur in the land belonging to the temple of Baba Nalnah, some treasure trove was excavated by the contractor, namely, Ghulam Nabi Bhat, which included gold and silver items. 2. It is state that the aforementioned treasure was sought to be protected in terms of the J&K Treasure Trove Act, 1954, which has not been done by the concerned authorities, despite repeated requests in this regard. 3. With the consensus of the learned counsel for the parties, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban to conduct an enquiry under the provisions of J&K Treasure Trove Act, 1954 and take appropriation action in this regard within a period of three months from today. 4. The Deputy Commissioner, upon completion of enquiry shall take such steps as are necessary under law. 5. Disposed of accordingly.
