JUDGMENT : 1. The petitioner claims to be appearing as a prosecution witness in case titled “State V/s Rattan Lal & others” pending trial in the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Udhampur. It is stated that the petitioner is apprehending danger at the hands of the accused and faces threat to his life. 2. This petition is disposed of at its threshold with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Udhampur to look into the matter with a view to determine as to whether there is sound basis in the apprehension expressed by the petitioner after taking into account the material that may be provided by the petitioner. 3. The petitioner shall file a representation before the SSP, Udhampur within week’s time and the same shall be decided by the SSP, Udhampur passing a speaking order within a period of three weeks’ thereafter. 4. Disposed of accordingly along with connected MP.
