ORDER 1. At the very outset, senior advocate Shri Vinod Bharadwaj, Shri K.N.Gupta and advocate Shri Pratip Visoriya, have graciously submitted that this Court may issue directives to conduct the elections of the Bar Association as per the constitution/by-laws of the Association as all parties repose trust upon this Court to ensure fair and free elections. 2. In the opinion of this Court, members of the Bar Association are held in respect by the legal fraternity and public at large as well. They enjoy the trust and faith of the community of people. This Court has not even an iota of doubt that members of the Bar are competent and responsible enough to ensure a responsible body to be elected to regulate the Bar activities. 3. This Court endorses faith and trust of the people of fraternity and public at large upon the members of Bar Association. Therefore, in the fitness of things, it is considered apposite to dispose of this petition with the directions, which learned counsel for parties consented for : (i) Let Bar Associate hold a meeting as already proposed today for convening of General Body meeting; (ii) The members shall resolve to have a committee of responsible members for the purpose of holding elections preferably not more than five in numbers. (iii) The committee shall appoint a returning officer to conduct the elections. (iv) The Returning Officer shall ensure fair and free elections and complete the process as far as possible within two months from today. Writ petition stands disposed of.
