ORDER : Mr. R. Vijayakumar, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for respondents 1 to 6. 2. The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct respondents 1 to 4 to sanction and disburse the Social Assistance to 4,15,478 indigent, destitute beneficiaries who are not paid the monthly pensions from 2014 by heads of various Social Welfare Schemes under the Social Security Scheme (SSS) with subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria prescribed by G.O.Ms.No.26 & 27 dated 17.4.2015, 22.02.2016, consequently to direct the respondents to protect their livelihood guaranteed under Article 21 and 41 of the Constitution of India. 3. It is the case of the petitioner that from the year 2014, monthly pensions under the Social Security Scheme of the Government of Tamil Nadu was cancelled to 4,15,478 beneficiaries due to death, dual registration, transfer of place etc. It is also the case of the petitioner that no notice, enquiry, order or reason was served to them before withdrawing their pensions. The petitioner sent several representations to review the said decision. However, no action was taken. Hence, the petitioner has filed the writ petition seeking the relief stated supra. 4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 6. 5. The main grievance of the petitioner appears to be the withdrawal/cancellation of monthly pensions hurriedly by the State Government to 4,15,478 beneficiaries under Social Security Scheme. 6. It appears that the Government has taken a decision to stop or withdraw the pensions due to death, dual registration and transfer of place etc. One of the grounds for withdrawal/cancellation of the monthly pension is also stated to be return of monthly pension for three consecutive months. The Government, after verifying the records, has taken a decision to withdraw/cancel the monthly pensions to 4,15,478 beneficiaries and it cannot be said that it has been done hurriedly. 7. Since the petitioner is stated to be a social worker and is very much interested in the subject matter, we direct the petitioner to first do the exercise of collecting the details of persons who have been deprived of the benefits due to the decision taken by the Government and forward the same to the authorities concerned of the Districts.
