JUDGMENT : SURINDER GUPTA, J. 1. This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of private respondents. 2. When the petition was taken up, respondents No.4 and 5 have put in appearance with their counsel Mr. Jasbir Rattan, Advocate and placed on record some documents to show that Sukhjit Singh, petitioner No.2 is married with Kuldeep Kaur, who is also present in the Court. They also placed on record certain photographs of marriage of petitioner No.2 with Kuldeep Kaur. 3. When confronted with this fact, both the petitioners i.e. Radhika and Sukhjit Singh admitted this fact that Sukhjit Singh was earlier married to Kuldeep Kaur. However, in para 6 of the petition, it has been mentioned that this is first marriage of the petitioners and they were not previously married. While the above submission is correct so far as petitioner No.1 Radhika is concerned, it is misleading and incorrect in view of submission made by both the petitioners. They have also filed affidavits in support of their contentions in this petition. This shows that both have tried to mislead this Court. 4. At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioners seeks permission to withdraw this petition. 5. Though I have no hesitation in allowing her to withdraw this petition but at the same time, the petitioners cannot be allowed to go scot-free. In view of the circumstances, which have cropped up, I am of the view that the petitioners may have threat to their lives and liberty, as such, instead of allowing the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners, I dispose of this petition with direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Sri Muktsar Sahib to look into their representation dated 28.03.2017 (Annexure P-5) and provide required protection to the lives and liberty of petitioners but at the same time, action is ordered to be taken against them for making false representation in this petition. 6. Registrar (Rules) is directed to prepare a complaint and send the same to the police for registration of case against the petitioners, for making false representations in their petition and affidavit. 7. It is, however, made clear that nothing contained in this order will be interpreted as giving any type of protection to the petitioners in any civil, criminal or other proceedings pending, instituted or to be initiated against them.
