body2018
ORDER : W.P. (Civil) No. 564 of 2018: 1. We have been told by learned counsel for the petitioner that on 30.06.2018, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has granted recognition for the Academic year 20182019. The University has also granted affiliation by its order dated 20.07.2018. We have further been told by learned counsel for the petitioner that the counseling has not yet begun. This being the case, we allow the writ petition and enable the petitioner to admit the students for the Academic year 2018-2019. W.P. (Civil) No. 577 of 2018: 2. Insofar as R.S. Memorial College of Education is concerned, orders for affiliation have been asked for and have not yet been disposed of by the University. The University will do so within a period of one week from today. 3. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. 4. Learned counsel appearing for the NCTE submits that the State Government has issued orders stating that institutions of this kind are not needed in the State as per State policy. According to him, an I.A. filed by the association of such institutions has already been dismissed. As we have struck down similar policies in other States, this contention need not detain us.
