JUDGMENT Ajay Mohan Goel, J. (Oral) - This Court had taken suo motu cognizance of a letter petition addressed to it by the residents of Development Block Karsog, District Mandi, HP, wherein they have highlighted the problem being faced by the inhabitants of various villages comprised in Gram Panchayat Churag on account of insufficient drinking water being made available to them. 2. This Court, while issuing notice to the respondents had directed them to file status report and later on appointed Shri L.S. Mehta, learned Counsel to assist as Amicus Curiae. 3. Affidavit of Superintending Engineer, I&PH Circle, Sunder Nagar, District Mandi has been filed, relevant portion of which is reproduced herein-below:- "2. That the scheme namely List Water Supply Scheme Parlog Khad to Mahunag Behlidhar has been approved under NABARD for the amount of Rs. 1155.08 Lacs. 3. That the work on said scheme namely LWSS Parlog Khad to Mohunag Behlidhar is in progress and 40% overall work of this scheme has been done and the said scheme is likely to be completed in December, 2019. 4. That the scheme is being constructed in two phases that is by lift phase and gravity phase. In lift phase water will be lifted from parlog Khad while in Gravity phase water will be tapped from Khudda Ballah. 5. That in second phase of the scheme that is the gravity phase from Khudda Nallah to Frash, about 80% work for construction of sedimentation tank, filter beds and storage tank at village Frash and laying of 65mm dia gravity main from Khudda Nallah upto Farash is complete and the remaining work except distribution system of gravity phase shall be completed by July, 2018. The water will be supplied through the existing distribution system to the habitations mentioned in resolution/petition immediately from August, 2018." 4. Taking into consideration the contents of the affidavit, we are persuaded by learned Advocate General to close this petition and accordingly we close this petition with the observation that the schemes referred to in the above mentioned affidavit be completed in all respects as reflected in the said affidavit. 5.
