ORDER : Writ Petition (Civil) No. 754/2016 1. Learned counsel for the State of Gujarat prays for two weeks’ time to file the compliance report. She is permitted to do so. 2. All other States, which have not filed the compliance report, shall file the same within the said period. 3. Needless to say, all affidavits shall be filed in this writ petition and not in the other writ petitions, so that there can be an appropriate appreciation of the steps taken by the State. 4. Mr. Sanjay R. Hegde, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that if copies of the affidavits are served on Mr. Fuzail Ahmad Ayyubi, learned counsel, he shall compile the same and also assist the Court with regard to the other steps to be taken, if necessary. We order accordingly. 5. Let the matter be listed on 7.9.2018. W.P.(C) No. 764/2016, W.P.(C) No. 768/2016, W.P.(C) No. 732/2017 and W.P.(Crl.) No. 122/2017 (PIL-W) 6. Let these writ petitions be listed alongwith W.P.(C) No. 754/2016 on 7.9.2018. Contempt Petition (C) No. 1986/2017 7. It is submitted by Ms. Indira Jaising, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner that despite the directions issued in the judgment dated 17.7.2018 in Writ Petition (C) No. 754/2016 (Tehseen S. Poonawalla vs. Union of India & Ors.) and other connected writ petitions, a terrible lynching has taken place on 24.7.2018 at Village Lalwandi, District Ramgarh, Rajasthan. Mr. Shiv Mangal Sharma, learned Additional Advocate General for the State of Rajsthan submits that appropriate action has been taken against the erring officials and he will file an affidavit of the Principal Secretary of the Department of Home, State of Rajasthan within a week hence. Needless to say, the affidavit shall deal with every aspect and clarify the position, keeping in view the assertions made and also regard being had to the directions issued in the judgment aforementioned. 8. Let the matter be listed on 30.8.2018.
