JUDGMENT : 1. This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the correctness of the impugned transfer order dated 23.12.2017 passed by the 1st respondent, namely, the Commandant, Office of the Commandant, TSP Regimental Centre, Avadi, Chennai-600 054, thereby transferring the petitioner from TSP-RC Avadi to TSP X Battalion, Ulundurpet, which is about 200 Kms. from Avadi. 2. Assailing the impugned transfer order, the learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a widow and serving as a Sanitary Worker since 1997. The learned Counsel further submitted that being a last grade servant, she is not receiving a handful salary and therefore, she will not be in a position to eke out her livelihood by maintaining two establishments, one at Avadi with her family and another at the transferred place. Therefore, the impugned order transferring the petitioner, who is a last grade servant, namely, sanitary worker to a far off place would amount to denial of employment to the petitioner. 3. When the matter was listed under the caption, ''for admission'' on 04.01.2018, while granting an order of status-quo, Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader, who took notice for the respondents, was instructed to get instructions by this Court. 4. Today, on instructions, the learned Special Government Pleader fairly submitted that keeping in mind that the petitioner is a Last Grade Servant, she could not have been transferred to a far off place and the respondents have now taken a decision to accommodate her at Veerapuram TSP which is only 8 kms. from Avadi. 5. The learned Counsel for the petitioner is very well agreeable to the said stand taken by the respondents. He further requested this Court that recording the said stand taken by the respondents, the Writ Petition itself may be disposed of. 6. In view of the stand taken by the respondents to reconsider the case of the petitioner to accommodate her in a nearby place at Veerapuram, the impugned order of transfer dated 23.12.2017 issued by the 1st respondent is set aside and the respondents are directed to accommodate the petitioner in a nearby place and on receipt of any such orders from the respondents, the petitioner is directed to join the new transferred place forthwith. 7. With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
