ORDER : Writ Petition(C) No.754/2016 etc. 1. In pursuance of our judgment dated 17.07.2018, as per Office Report, ten States, namely, the States of Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Tripura, Assam, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar and two Union Territories, namely, Lakshdweep and Puducherry have filed Compliance Reports. As per the Office Report, the Union of India has also filed the Report. 2. It is submitted by Mr. K.K. Venugopal, learned Attorney General for India that the Union of India has constituted an Empowered Group of Ministers for the purpose of considering the nature of legislation to be brought in. Regard being had to the aforesaid situation, we direct the remaining States and Union Territories to file their response in consonance with our Judgment dated 17.07.2018 within two weeks hence. No further adjournment shall be granted on the said score. If the reports are not filed, there will be a direction for personal appearance of the Home Secretaries of the defaulting States. 3. Let these matters be listed on 24.09.2018. 4. All the States are directed to upload the action taken by them so that all concerned can be aware about such steps being taken by the States, which are necessary for creating peace and harmony in the society and deterring individuals who are taking law into their own hands. 5. Apart from that, the States shall comply with direction No.(ix) of the judgment without wasting any time. 6. Let a copy of Conmt.Pet.(C) No.1497/2018 in W.P.(C) No.754/2016 be served on Mr. Shiv Mangal Sharma, learned Additional Advocate General for the State of Rajasthan. Conmt.Pet.(C)No.1986/2017 in W.P.(C)No.732/2017 7. Call on 24.09.2018. 8. In the meantime, the State of Rajasthan shall file a report indicating therein the steps taken against the erring officials along with the documents.
