JUDGMENT : AMOL RATTAN SINGH, J. 1. Pursuant to the affidavit of Dr. Sukchain Singh Gill, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, having been filed on the last date of hearing, learned counsel for the State points to the fact that in fact a cross case has been registered now at the instance of the petitioner and her father against respondents no. 7 to 12 and some other persons on 18.04.2018, vide DDR No. 49, in respect of the injuries alleged to have been sustained by the petitioner and her father on 16.07.2017. 2. It has further been stated by the Commissioner of Police that for the delay in registering the cross-case, a departmental enquiry has been initiated against Inspector Mohammad Jamil, ASI Balvir Singh and ASI Jaswinder Singh, on 02.05.2018. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is satisfied at this stage with the action taken. 4. Consequently, this petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous, but with a direction to the Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, to continue to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioner and her family are duly protected.
