JUDGMENT Dharam Chand Chaudhary, J. - The petition addressed by a citizen to Hon''ble the Chief Justice of this Court came to be processed and thereafter ordered to be registered as CWPIL. 2. The grouse as brought to the Court is that proceeding on strike the employees and officers of various banks cause inconvenience and complications serious in nature to the citizens having dealing with the Banks. The petition was addressed to Hon''ble the Chief Justice on the call to proceed on strike given by All India Bank Employees'' Association as per news Item published in the Punjab Kesari, a Hindi daily annexed to the petition. 3. The respondents when put to notice have filed their respective responses. The reply now filed on behalf of respondents No. 5 and 6 (Bank Employees''/ Officers'' Association) reveals that the demands raised by various unions of bank employees'' are under consideration of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), New Delhi, a statutory authority. The respondents Employees/Officers Associations themselves admit that the demands of the Bank employees are under process before the Chief Labour Commissioner and the writ petition has been sought to be disposed of with other and further orders as deemed fit and proper. 4. In this view of the matter and settled legal principles that resorting to strike by the employees to press their demands is illegal, nothing more is left to be adjudicated upon in this petition on merits and we dispose of the same with a direction to respondents No. 5 and 6 and all other Banks Employees Associations detailed in para 1 of the reply filed on behalf of the said respondents not to indulge in any activity, which is not legally admissible and rather approach the competent authority(s) including 1st respondent for redressal of their genuine demands in accordance with law. We also direct the 1st respondent to consider the demands raised before it by the Banks employees'' Associations/Unions sympathetically and resolve the same in a time bound manner as per the procedure/ rules and guidelines applicable.
