ORDER 1. The accused appellant in the Criminal Appeals under consideration have been found guilty of "criminal contempt" under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 and sentenced to undergo, inter alia, simple imprisonment of six months in each case along with fine. The fine amount has been deposited. Over and above the aforesaid, the accused appellant have also been prohibited from entering the premises of the District Judgeship at Hathras for a period of one year which direction has been carried out. 2. We have perused the order(s) of the High Court and have taken note of the facts of the case. It is our considered view that on the materials on record we cannot find any fault with the order of the High Court insofar as commission of contempt is concerned. 3. The question of sentence is the next question to be addressed. The accused appellant has tendered an unconditional apology to this Court for his deeds and misdeeds and has appeared in person and expressed his prof used regrets over the incident. He has assured the Court that he will, at all times in the future, maintain decorum and discipline of the Court and conduct himself in a manner befitting the legal profession. Having interacted with the accused appellant we are of the view that the apology tendered by him is sincere and the accused appellant regrets what had happened. 4. In the above circumstances we are of the view that the sentence of fine which has already been carried out will adequately meet the ends of justice. The accused appellant will, however, file an unconditional apology before the District Judge, Hathras within two weeks from today along with an undertaking of good conduct. 5. Subject to the compliance of the above directions, while upholding the order of the High Court we modify the sentence as aforesaid. 6. All the appeals shall stand disposed of in the above terms.
