JUDGMENT Mr. Gurvinder Singh Gill, J.:- (Oral) - The petitioner seeks grant of regular bail in case registered vide FIR No.193 dated 23.07.2018 under Sections 61(1)14 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 registered at Police Station Sadar Ferozepur, District Ferozepur for allegedly having been found in possession of 1350 Kilograms of ‘Lahan’ and 200 bottles containing 750 ml. each of illicit liquor. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that he has falsely been implicated in the present case and that in any case, he has now been behind bars since last more than three months. On the other hand, learned State counsel has submitted that the petitioner is involved in three other cases under the Excise Act. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner has however informed that the petitioner is already on bail in the other cases and has furnished copy of one such order passed in CRM-M-37680-2018 dated 04.09.2018 titled as Gajjan Singh vs. State of Punjab. 4. Having regard to the abovesaid facts and circumstances and that the petitioner has been in custody since the last more than three months, in my opinion, no fruitful purpose would be served by further detaining the petitioner behind bars. Accordingly, petitioner-Gajjan Singh is ordered to be released on bail on his furnishing bail bonds/surety bonds to the satisfaction of learned trial Court/Duty Magistrate, Ferozepur. This petition stands accepted accordingly.
