ORDER This Court on 10th January, 2018, passed the following order:- “We have perused the report of the Supervisory Committee. On a perusal of the same, we find that the SIT has not done further investigation in respect of 186 cases. Regard being had to the nature of the case, we think it appropriate that a fresh SIT should be constituted for carrying on the further investigation. Ms. Pinky Anand, learned Additional Solicitor General appearing on behalf of the Union of India and Mr. H.S. Phoolka, learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner shall file three names consisting of (i) a former Judge of the High Court (ii) a former IPS Officer not below the rank of IG or equivalent post and (iii) a presently serving police officer of IPS status available in Delhi for constitution of SIT.” 2. In pursuance of the aforesaid order, a list containing names has been filed by Ms. Pinky Anand, learned Additional Solicitor General appearing on behalf of the Union of India and Mr. H.S. Phoolka, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner. 3. After some discussion, the parties have arrived at a consensus that the following members may constitute the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and proceed with the further investigation:- 1. Justice S.N. Dhingra, former Judge of the High Court of Delhi 2. Mr. Rajdeep Singh, IPS (Retd.) (UP-1979) 3. Mr. Abhishek Dular, IPS (HP-2006) 4. Justice S.N. Dhingra shall be the Chairman of the SIT and others shall be members. 5. In view of the aforesaid, we direct the said SIT to proceed as regards the further investigation in respect of 186 cases and submit its status report within two months hence. 6. We may hasten to clarify that the constitution of the present SIT does not have any reflection on the functioning of earlier SIT. Needless to say, appropriate assistance and logistic support shall be given to the SIT by the Union of India. Let the matter be listed on 19th March, 2018.
