ORDER : Mr. Colin Gonsalves, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner, has furnished a list of domestic workers across the country, who are yet to be registered. According to him, if 10% of workers in each State/Union Territory is registered in a month, by the end of 2018, the registration can be completed. 2. We direct the Secretary (Labour) of the Government of India to look into this statement and verify the data furnished by the learned senior counsel and take steps accordingly, without further delay so that the registration process can be started from the month of February, 2018. We direct the Secretary, Labour to furnish a report after three months as to the action taken. 3. We make it clear that the process of registration will include not only the registration but also the issuance of Identity Cards and extension of benefits referred to in our order dated 24.03.2017. 4. Post on 15.05.2018. 5. We permit the petitioner to implead the State(s)/Union Territories represented by its/their Secretary(Labour) and a copy of this order be served on the standing counsel for the respective State(s)/Union Territories along with the list furnished by the learned senior counsel.
