JUDGMENT Mahabir Singh Sindhu, J. (Oral)—The petition is filed praying for quashing FIR No.277 dated 6.7.2016, under Section 295-A IPC, registered at Police Station Civil Lines, Amritsar, on the basis of compromise entered into between the parties. 2. Heard. 3. Both the parties were directed by this Court vide order dated 29.08.2017 to appear before the learned trial Court and get their statements recorded and in pursuance thereof, learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Amritsar having recorded the statements of both the parties submitted a report dated 26.09.2017. A perusal of the same reveals that parties have willfully settled their differences and reached at bonafide compromise without any pressure and the same seems to be genuine and no one is declared as proclaimed offender in this case. 4. Learned counsel for respondent No. 2 has no objection if the FIR is quashed. 5. Inasmuch as the dispute between the parties has been amicably settled and they have already entered into compromise, continuance of the prosecution would be an exercise in futility. Therefore, in view of the report of learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Amritsar and stand taken by both the parties, the aforesaid FIR and all consequent proceedings resulting therefrom are quashed. 6. Petition is allowed.
