JUDGMENT : ANIRUDDHA BOSE, J. 1. The main prayer in this writ petition is for issuing direction upon the Central Bureau of Investigation for taking up investigation with respect to illegal gain of money by extremist groups and local criminals. Allegation of the writ petitioner is that the officers of the Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and Police administration at Amrapali Project situated under Chatra district are conniving with the perpetrators of these illegal activities. 2. Mr. Mehta, learned counsel appearing for CCL and Mr. Piyush Chitresh, learned counsel for the Police administration deny the allegations of inaction or connivance. Submission of Mr. Chitresh is that altogether eleven First Information Reports have been lodged and investigation is going on and this has been disclosed in the counter affidavit of the Respondent Nos. 2, 3 and 4 filed on 16th March, 2018. 3. Though the nature of the extortion has been highlighted in the writ petition, there is no specific instance of involvement of any individual belonging to CCL or Police administration in the writ petition. In such circumstances, since FIRs have already been lodged and investigation is going on, we do not find any reason for keeping the writ petition pending. We, however, direct the State to formulate a high level monitoring body to continuously monitor the investigation and take adequate steps to prevent such extortion in future. 4. The writ petition stands disposed of in the above terms. No order as to costs.
