JUDGMENT Dharam Chand Chaudhary, J. - The zimni orders after recording the statements of the accused under Section 313 Cr. P.C. and evidence in defence have since been received in the Registry of this Court and tagged herewith. 2. Mr. Gupta, learned counsel representing the accused-petitioners submits that both the accused-petitioners alongwith their co-accused Balwan Singh, have since been convicted by learned trial Court. Being so, both these applications have turned infructuous and the same are accordingly dismissed. 3. Before parting, it is noted from the zimni orders now received that the statements of the accused under Section 313 Cr. P.C. were recorded by learned trial Court on 10.8.2017 and thereafter evidence in defence on the next date i.e. 5.9.2017. The matter thereafter remained listed for hearing arguments/rearguments on number of dates in a span of almost two years. Such a long time should have not been taken nor was required for hearing arguments and deciding the trial after recording the evidence in defence. It is seen that the adjournments have been granted merely on asking and without any justification. Such an approach on the part of learned trial Court is not at all appreciated. In order to avoid recurrence of such approach by learned trial Judge(s), the Registrar General of this Court to send a copy of this judgment to them for compliance and their guidance.
