JUDGMENT : Shekher Dhawan, J. 1. Present petition under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure is for grant of regular bail in case bearing FIR No. 119 dated 20.04.2018 (Annexure P/1) under Sections 406 and 420 IPC and Section 13 of the Travel Profession Regulation Act,2014 registered at Police Station Phillaur, District Jalandhar. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the petitioner is in custody since 7.3.2019 and the offences are triable by the Court of Magistrate. Co-accused, namely, Darshan Dhanda was released on bail by this Court vide orders dated 11.02.2019 passed in CRM-M-40863-2018. Trial of the case still to take some more time. So, the petitioner be released on bail. 3. Learned State counsel as also learned counsel representing the complainant contended that the allegations against the petitioner are serious in nature and he is not entitled to be released on bail. 4. Having considered the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties and the fact that the petitioner is in custody since 7.3.2019, and trial of this case still to take some more time, no purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind the bars. 5. Resultantly, the present petition stands allowed and petitioner, Chaman Lal is ordered to be released on regular bail subject to his furnishing bail bonds/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the trial Court/Chief Judicial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate concerned. 6. Any observation made herein above shall have no bearing on the merits of the case.
