ORDER 1. Heard on the question of admission and interim relief. 2. The grievance of the petitioner is that there is a serious threat to life and liberty of the petitioner as well as her daughter against the illegal and offensive act of her daughter-in-law namely- Preeti and her father- Rajesh Sikarwar, Mother- Sunita, brother- Deepu, cousin-brother- Raja and her uncle- Banti Sikarwar and Prakash Parihar and other persons who came to the petitioner's house and looted cash and gold ornaments which were kept by the petitioner for the marriage of her daughter, since they were annoyed with the petitioner because of the murder of Preeti's brother in which the petitioner 's son is one of the co-accused. These persons have manhandled the petitioner and her daughter and threatened to kill them. They are not allowing the petitioner and her daughter to reside in their own house. Hence, this petition has been filed seeking direction to extend the benefit of protection of life and liberty of the petitioner and her daughter. 3. The petitioner has already filed an application seeking protection of life and liberty against those persons before the 2 competent authority which is still pending. It is further submitted by the counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner and her daughter being female members and apprehending the dangerous situation, direction may be issued to the competent authority to conduct inquiry in the matter as expeditiously as possible. 4. On the other hand, learned Government Advocate has submitted that the petitioner, without waiting for the outcome of the application, has approached this Court directly, as such, the present petition is not maintainable and deserves to be dismissed. 5. Looking the totality of the facts and circumstances of the case and fact that question of life and liberty of female members is involved, respondent No. 2 i.e. Superintendent of Police, Gwalior is directed to conduct the inquiry in the whole episode either personally or delegate the same to some other officer not below the rank of Deputy Superin-tendent of Police and conclude the same as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of ten days. 6. Till inquiry is completed, protection be provided to the petitioner and her daughter. 7. Respondents shall ensure that no untoward incident takes place with them. 8. With the aforesaid direction, this petition stands disposed of.
