ORDER 1. Appeal admitted. 2. By the order of this Court dated 7 December 2018, the following directions were issued:- "It has been agreed that the respondents shall pay an amount of Rs. 26,42,523.62/-p along with interest @ 8% p.a. w.e.f. 01.06.2017 in terms of para 14(1) of the impugned order, upon which the petitioners shall hand over possession of the flat in terms of the direction in para 14(iii). The petitioners shall deposit an amount of Rs. 8,05,000/- before the Registry of this Court within a period of three weeks from today. The amount shall be invested in a short term fixed deposit, pending further orders. Subject to the aforesaid, the impugned judgment of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission shall remain stayed." 3. In pursuance of the above directions, the respondents paid an amount of Rs 26,42,523.62/- together with interest @ 8 per cent p.a. with effect from 1 June 2017. Thereupon, the appellant handed over possession of the flat as directed by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission ("NCDRC"). The appellant also deposited an amount of Rs 8,05,000/- before the Registry of this Court which has been invested in a short term fixed deposit. 4. Having regard to the peculiar facts and circumstances of the present case, we direct that the above amount of Rs 8,05,000/- which has been deposited in the Registry, together with accrued interest, if any, thereon shall be released to the respondents by the Registry. 5. Since possession has been handed over to the respondents, their grievance would now stand resolved in terms of the above directions. 6. The order passed by the NCDRC shall stand substituted by the present order. 7. The appeal is, accordingly, disposed of. No costs. 8. Pending application(s), if any, shall stand disposed of.
