JUDGMENT : KAUSHAL JAYENDRA THAKER, J. 1. Learned Counsel for the petitioner has filed this contempt petition for taking action under the Contempt of Courts Act against Kavita Bujeta that she has wilfully not carried out the orders of this Court dated 6.5.2019 in Criminal Writ Petition No. 12027 of 2019 and also order dated 14.11.2019 in Contempt Petition No. 7451 of 2019 and, therefore, she should be held guilty for contempt. 2. This Court had requested the learned Counsel to go through the order-sheet which shows that the Lawyers were on strike and, therefore, she placed the matter on 30.3.2020. This petition has been filed on 30.7.2020 not mentioning what happened on 30.3.2020. Can it be said that there is purpose to delay by the concerned authority. She has been listing the matter daily at short interval but the Lawyers were on strike and on the same time she was over busy with other work. It is hoped now that as pandemic is over, she would take up the matter as expeditiously as possible and if the Lawyers are on strike insist them for hearing of the matter so that in future she does not have to face the problem of contempt being raised by her as it appears that original respondent in the said matter are trying to delay the proceedings instituted by Zeera Devi hence instead of taking any action under the Contempt of Courts Act, this Court direct the authority to decide the lis as expeditiously as possible but not later than 31.12.2020. 3. It is hoped that the party will not seek unnecessary adjournment and if the Advocates are on strike, the Advocate for the respondent will appear on the next date which would be within a week. 4. With the aforesaid observations, the contempt petition is disposed of.
