ORDER 1. The petitioner has filed the present petition being aggrieved by order dated 21.9.2020 whereby his passport has been impounded by the Regional Passport Officer, Bhopal in exercise of powers conferred u/s. 10(3)(e) of the Passports Act, 1967. 2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that before issuing the aforesaid order, no opportunity of hearing was given to the petitioner. As on today, only the FIR has been registered against him and even the charges have not been framed, therefore, the powers u/s. 10(3)(e) have wrongly been invoked against him. 3. Learned counsel appearing for respondent No.2 submits that the aforesaid order is appellable u/s. 11 of the Passports Act, 1967 and all the grounds as have been raised in this petition are available to the petitioner to raise before the appellate authority. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the period of limitation for filing an appeal has expired because of the Corona epidemic. 5. The apex Court by way of an order passed in W.P. No.1/2020 has extended the period of limitation in all types of the cases. Accordingly, this petition is disposed of with a liberty to the petitioner to prefer an appeal before the appellate authority. If any such appeal is preferred within a period of ten days from today, the appellate authority is directed to decide the appeal as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of next thirty days. 6. With the aforesaid, this petition stands disposed of.
