JUDGMENT Ravindra Maithani, J. - Petitioner seeks quashing of summoning order dated 16th June, 2014, passed in criminal case no. 1596 of 2014, State vs. Shahbaz Nasir, pending in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Vikas Nagar, District Dehradun ('the case') as also to quash the proceedings of the case. 2. Heard learned counsel for the parties through video conferencing. 3. In the instant case, an FIR was lodged by respondent no.2 against her husband and others with regard to offences under Sections 498-A IPC and other offences. After investigation, charge-sheet has been submitted against the petitioner under Section 498-A, 323, 34, 506, 377 and 494 IPC and of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. In fact, two charge-sheets were submitted in the case. 4. Now, parties have filed a joint compounding application along with affidavit of the petitioner and respondent no2. 5. The petitioner, who is identified by his counsel Mr. Parikshit Saini, Advocate and respondent no. 2 Smt. Saheen, who is identified by Mr. Mohd. Safdar, Advocate, have joined the proceedings through video conferencing. They both have stated that they have settled the disputes. 6. The dispute between the parties basically arises from a matrimonial discord and parties have settled their disputes. Therefore, this Court is of the view that no purpose would be served if the proceedings are allowed to continue. Accordingly, the petition deserves to be allowed. 7. The petition is allowed. The summoning order dated 16th June, 2014 as well as the entire proceedings of the case are quashed. 8. The compounding application stands disposed of accordingly.
