JUDGMENT 1. Dr. Basanta Kumar Doley has filed this application seeking extension of interim bail granted vide order dated 11.03.2020 for another six months. 2. The Court proceedings have been conducted by means of creating a Virtual Court with the help of technology, so as to maintain distance between the staff, Advocates and the Presiding Judge. 3. I have heard Mr. B.D. Goswami, learned counsel for the applicant and Mr. P.P. Baruah, learned Public Prosecutor, Assam for the respondent. 4. It transpires that the applicant is an accused in Bhangagarh P.S. Case No. 159/2017 registered under Sections 120(B)/420/468 IPC read with Sections 7/13/(1)(a)(d)(III)(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The applicant apparently was a member of Assam Public Service Commission. 5. The applicant applied for bail on merit, which was dismissed. The applicant applied for second time for bail, which was also dismissed. 6. It appears that the son of the applicant passed away. Therefore, the applicant sought temporary bail, which was granted while dealing with B.A. No. 732/2020 vide order dated 11.03.2020. 7. Learned counsel for the applicant seeks further extension of bail at least till the end of this month. 8. Considering serious nature of offence allegedly committed by the applicant, and the fact that considering humanitarian aspect of the case four weeks time was granted to the applicant to join the ceremonies, I find no ground to extend the bail any further. 9. The application is dismissed. 10. Let a copy of this order be provided under the signature of the Court Master.
