JUDGMENT Cheekati Manavendranath Roy, J. - This petition is filed under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, to enlarge the petitioner on bail in the event of his arrest. 2. The petitioner is A-1 in Crime No.237 of 2020 of Hindupur II Town Police Station, Ananthapur District. 3. The offences registered against him are under Sections 498(A) and 323 r/w 34 IPC. 4. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor. 5. It is a case of harassing the de facto complainant with illegal demands for dowry and subjecting her to cruelty punishable under Section 498-A IPC. Therefore, having regard to the allegations ascribed against the petitioner herein and the seriousness of the offence in which he is involved, this Court is of the considered view that it is not a fit case for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 6. In the result, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. However, as the offences are punishable with less than seven (07) years period, the Investigating Officer is directed to follow the procedure contemplated under Section 41-A Cr.P.C and the guidelines prescribed by the Hon'ble Apex Court in Arnesh Kumar v. State of Bihar and another, (2014) 8 SCC 273 case.
