JUDGMENT (Prayer: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of Mandamus by directing the Respondents to take immediate action to transit the Tamil Nadu Natives who are all stranded in different parts of the State due to lock down within the time stipulated by this court.) Dr. Vineet Kothari, J. 1. After hearing Mr. Ajmal Khan, learned Senior Counsel for the Petitioner and the learned Government Pleader Mr. V .Jayaprakash Narayanan, we direct the Respondent State to file a State report about the steps taken for bringing back the stranded people in various parts of the Country particularly in Delhi, the cause of which is espoused by the present Petitioner and it appears that they belong to a particular community and had attended the Conference of Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi. 2. Mr. Ajmal Khan, learned Senior Counsel has submitted that they have already fled their representation alongwith a list of people to travel from Delhi to Chennai and who have been tested Corona Negative and competed their quarantine period and also undertaken to bear the transportation cost from Delhi to Chennai. 3. The learned Government Pleader has submitted that all such Applications of various intending people stranded in different parts of the Country which are in huge number are being processed by a Nodal Officer viz. Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma, I.A.S. and his team in this regard. 4. Therefore, we direct the Respondent-State to file a Status Report with regard to the steps taken for transportation of those people and also inform the court about the steps taken for processing the Applications fled by the people in the present case whose cause is being sought to be represented in this Writ Petition. 5. Post the matter on 12.5.2020. A copy of the records is directed to be made available and soft copy of the same alongwith the Affidavit and others papers so far fled by the Petitioner shall be supplied to the learned Government Pleader and the Registrar (Judicial) who may place the same before this Court on the next date of hearing.
