ORDER : (Hearing Through Video Conferencing) 1. The order dated 05.10.2020 passed by this Court referred to the Status Report filed under the signature of Mr. M.K. Chahar, Under Secretary, Legal Cell, Internal Security-II Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and also to the fact that certain legal proceedings concerning the Contemnor are still pending in United Kingdom. The learned counsel appearing for the Contemnor was, therefore, asked to furnish certain details. 2. In response, IA No.111426 of 2020 has been filed by Mr. E.C. Agrawala, learned Advocate-on-Record for the Contemnor, seeking discharge. The application has annexed a copy of the communication dated 27.10.2020 received from Boutique Law LLP, London. The relevant portion of said communication reads as under: “We can confirm that legal proceedings which attract strict confidentiality as a matter of United Kingdom law are currently ongoing in the United Kingdom concerning Mr. Mallya. We are unfortunately for that reason not able to provide any further information about the nature of the proceedings or the relief sought.” 3. The application seeking discharge is rejected. Mr. E.C. Agrawala, learned Advocate shall continue to appear for the Contemnor. 4. Mr. Tushar Mehta, learned Solicitor General, prays for and is allowed time of six weeks to place Status Report on record. 5. Applications for Intervention are rejected. 6. List the matter in third week of January 2021.
