JUDGMENT Harnaresh Singh Gill, J. - Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. 2. The present criminal writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 to 5 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondents No.6 to 14 and not to harass the petitioner and his family members by falsely implicating them in a criminal case and further to save his property. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the proceedings in an earlier FIR No.125 dated 24.11.2010, under Sections 447, 427, 148 and 149 IPC, Police Station Kahnuwan, District Gurdaspur,registered against respondent No.12 and some other persons for destroying the standing crop of the petitioner, resulted into their conviction. Again on 06.06.2021, the standing sugarcane crop of the petitioner was destroyed by the private respondents and he has also moved a representation dated 24.04.2021 (Annexure P-3) before respondent No.4- Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur, for redressal of his grievance, but no action has been taken thereupon. It is further submitted that on account of the inaction on the part of the police authorities, the private respondents are threatening the petitioner and his family members. 4. At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied, if the representation dated 24.04.2021 (Annexure P-3) given by the petitioner, is decided by respondent No.4-Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur, within a stipulated period. 5. Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 5-State only, at this stage. 6. On the asking of this Court, Mr. Avtar Singh Sandhu, Addl. A.G.Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 5. 7. In view of the aforesaid prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner during the course of hearing, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4-Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur, to decide the representation dated 24.04.2021 (Annexure P-3) moved by the petitioner within one month, in accordance with law, after receipt of the copy of this order.
