JUDGMENT Anil Kshetarpal, J. (Oral) - The hearing of the case was held through video conferencing on account of restricted functioning of the Courts. 2. By this order CWP No.1278 and 1283 of 2021 shall stand disposed of. 3. The petitioners (in both the petitions) pray for direction to the respondents to release the amount of medical reimbursement of the bills which have already been approved. The petitioners claim that they are employees of Municipal Corporation, Abohar, Punjab. 4. Notice of motion. 5. Mr. T.P.S. Chawla, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondent No.l and 2.Having heard learned counsel for the parties, at some length, this Court is of the considered view that both the writ petitions can be disposed of without issuing notice to the respondent-corporation. 6. It is sad and unfortunate that the employees are forced to come to the Court for release of the amount of the medical reimbursement which has already been sanctioned. It reflects a very sorry state of affairs in the Corporation. Hence, the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation is directed to examine this aspect and take appropriate steps lest this Court would be forced to pass stringent orders. 7. The respondent-Municipal Corporation, Abohar, Punjab, is directed to release the amount of sanctioned medical reimbursement to the petitioners within 4 months. 8. That since the order has been passed without hearing Municipal Corporation, Abohar, Punjab, therefore, it shall have liberty to move an application for recall thereof. Disposed of accordingly.
