JUDGMENT Jay Sengupta, J. - This is an application praying for expeditious disposal of a proceeding under Sections 323, 354B, 506 and 509 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code. 2. A copy of the application be served upon Mr. Prasun Kumar Dutta and Mr. Arijit Ganguly, learned Counsels who are present in Court today and who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. Their engagement may be regularised in due course by the competent authority of the State. 3. Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows. This is a case between relatives. Although the application under Section 156(3) of the Code was moved in 2016 and charges were framed in 2017, till date none of the five witnesses named in the charge sheet has been examined. Long dates are being fixed. The matter has remained pending for no fault on the part of the present petitioner. 4. Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that it will be in the interest of justice if a direction is passed to expedite the proceeding. 5. I have heard the submissions of the learned Counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioners and the State and have perused the revision petition. 6. No prejudice will be caused to anyone if a direction is passed to expedite the proceeding. 7. It appears that some delay has been occasioned in the trial of the case. 8. In view of the above and in the interest of justice, the learned Trial Court is requested to conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties, preferably within a period of one year from the next date of hearing. 9. With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of. 10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order may be supplied to the parties expeditiously, if applied for.
