JUDGMENT : A. MUHAMED MUSTAQUE, J. 1. This original petition has been filed seeking expeditious disposal of Exts.P1 to P3 petitions pending before the Family Court, Ernakulam. 2. We note that large number of cases have been filed seeking expeditious disposal of the matters pending before various Family Courts, especially Ernakulam Family Court. 3. A division Bench of this Court by judgment in Shiju Joy vs. Nisha, 2021 (2) KLT 607 , had issued necessary guidelines for disposal of such matters pending before the Family Court. As per the directions in the above judgment, even the request for expeditious disposal can be made before the Family Court itself at the first instance and the Family Court shall strictly follow the seniority of each case while disposing of such matters. It is noted that none of the parties are moving the Family Court for expeditious disposal. The Family Courts are bound to dispose of such pending matters in a time bound manner. 4. The Registry shall not entertain original petitions seeking speedy disposal without verifying whether the party has approached the Family Court at the 1st instance. The Registrar (Judicial) shall take note of this direction and shall give appropriate instructions to the Registry. 5. This original petition is disposed of in the light of the above judgment. The petitioner is at liberty to move the Family Court, Ernakulam for expeditious disposal of the matter. The directions in the above judgment shall be scrupulously followed in this matter also.
