JUDGMENT Jay Sengupta, J. - This is an application for seeking expeditious disposal of a proceeding in which charges were framed under Sections 21(c) of the NDPS Act. 2. Let a copy of the application and certified copy of the order-sheet be served upon Mr. Mukherjee with Mr. Begg, learned counsels, who are present in Court and ordinarily appear for the State. Their engagement be regularised in due course by the competent authority of the State. 3. Leaned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is in custody since 07.01.2019. Although a charge sheet was submitted in this case in February, 2019 and a supplementary charge-sheet was submitted in September, 2019, till date the trial could not be concluded. There are ten witnesses. But, only one witness has been examined. The impugned proceeding has remained pending for no fault of the present petitioner. 4. I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioner and the State and have perused the revision petition. 5. No prejudice will be caused to anyone if a direction for expeditious disposal of the proceeding is passed in this case. 6. It appears that some delay has been occasioned in concluding the impugned proceeding. 7. In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I request the learned trial court to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, preferably within a period of one year from the next date of hearing. 8. With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of. 9. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
