JUDGMENT Jay Sengupta, J. - This is an application for expeditious conclusion of Sessions Case No.19/2020 under Sections 304, 406 and 498A read with Sections 120B of the Indian Penal Code. 2. A certified copy of the order-sheet filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 3. Let a copy of the application and certified copy of the order-sheet be served upon Mr. Ali with Ms. Sahu, learned counsels, who are present in Court and who ordinarily appear for the State. Their engagement be regularised in due course by the competent authority of the State. 4. Leaned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the father of the victim lady. Although the petitioner had instituted the impugned proceeding as far back as in 2015, till date even the charges could not be framed in this case. The charge-sheet was initially submitted in 2015 and the final supplementary charge-sheet had been filed at a subsequent date. The impugned proceeding has remained pending for no fault of the present petitioner. The impugned proceeding ought to be expedited in the interest of justice. 5. I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioner and the State and have perused the revision petition and the certified copy of the order sheet filed in Court. 6. No prejudice will be caused to anyone if a direction for an expeditious disposal of the proceeding is passed in this case. 7. It appears that some delay has been occasioned in concluding the impugned proceeding. 8. In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I request the learned trial court to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, preferably within a period of eighteen months from the next date of hearing. 9. With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of. 10. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
