JUDGMENT Jay Sengupta, J. - This is an application for seeking expeditious disposal of a proceeding in which charges were framed under Sections 21(c) of the NDPS Act. 2. Let a copy of the application and certified copy of the order-sheet be served upon Ms. Sahu, learned counsel, who is present in Court and who ordinarily appears for the State. Her engagement be regularised in due course by the competent authority of the State. 3. Leaned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is in custody since June, 2018. The charge sheet was submitted on 18th September, 2018. Yet, till date trial could not be concluded. There are nine witnesses in this case. But, only one witness has been examined. The impugned proceeding has remained pending for no fault of the present petitioner. 4. I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioner and the State and have perused the revision petition. 5. No prejudice will be caused to anyone if a direction for expeditious disposal of the proceeding is passed in this case. 6. It appears that some delay has been occasioned in concluding the impugned proceeding. 7. In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I request the learned trial court to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, preferably within a period of one year from the next date of hearing. 8.
